About the talk: The talk 18th Century Worcester Porcelain: from chinoiseries to ruins explores the history of the Worcester porcelain factory established in 1751 and illustrates its varied production from the collection in the British Museum, which is renowned for its dated and signed pieces. The Worcester collection was founded by Sir A.W. Franks in the later years of the 19th century and includes blue-and-white and printed wares from his collection, as well as all kinds of richly coloured grounds. These were the favourite of the great benefactors Mr and Mrs Frank Lloyd in the early years of the 20th century. Contemporary taste and the clientele of the Worcester factory will be illustrated by some of the splendid productions of this factory.
