The Sunday, March 26th meeting of the San Francisco Ceramic
Circle will be held in the Florence Gould Theater at the Palace
of the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, San Francisco. Enter by
the main entrance from 9.30am. The lecture will start at 10.00am.
About the lecture:
From the red-hot fires and smoky atmosphere of the Sraffordshire
potteries came fine white stoneware fit for the tables of England's
greatest houses. This lecture will share the story of the transformation
of a country craft into an industry that dominated the Western
world in the 18th century. It will discuss the skill and artistrythat
made salt-glazed stoneware an aesthetic and commercial success.
