"Ceramic Bodies - a hands on workshop"

The May meeting of the San Francisco Ceramic Circle will be
held on Thursday, 16th May in the Board Room at the Palace of
the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, San Francisco. Entrance is
from the West terrace from 7.30pm. The workshop will start at
8.00pm.
About the Workshop: Have you ever had problems telling softpaste
from hardpaste, or creamware from pearlware or stoneware? These
skills are essential aids to determining the authenticity of ceramic
objects.
This workshop will give you the opportunity to examine boken
and damaged pieces of 18th and early 19th century porcelain and
pottery and learn how to identify the different bodies from visual
observation and using aids including Black light ( short wavelength
ulta-violet light ) and white light translucency observation
About the workshop leader: Patricia Knight is owner of Patrician
Antiques in Los Altos and specializes in 18th and 19th century
pottery and porcelain and silver. A native of England she emigrated
to the U.S.A. in 1960 with her husband. She started her antiques
business in 1984 utilizing her background in history and knowledge
absorbed through weekly hunts through antique and shops in the
Cotswolds with her mother.
