San Francisco Ceramic Circle

July 16th Meeting

The S.F.C.C. Annual POT NIGHT and Business Meeting

The July meeting of the San Francisco Ceramic Circle will be held on Thursday, 16th July in the Porcelain Gallery at the Palace of the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, San Francisco. Entrance is from the West terrace from 7.30pm.

Members are invited to show and discuss recent additions to their collections in the Porcelain Gallery at the Palace of the Legion of Honor and join with other members of the S.F.C.C. for an informal evening of desserts, refreshments and Ceramics.

"Pot Nights" are a Ceramic Circle tradition. In addition to providing members an opportunity to show and discuss additions to their collections and to share their common interests in an informal setting, our July "Pot Night" enables members to hear the experiences and observations on Ceramics of those who have attended the London antiques fairs in June. Lee miller will talk about her experiences at the London Fairs and will also show the Doccia Tete-a-Tete recently acquired by the Museum . As usual an array of delicious desserts, refreshments and coffee will be served before the program.

Tables will be set up for members to display their latest acquisitions or interesting pieces from their collections and members are particularly encouraged to bring their ceramic enigmas so that we can all help other members with attribution and information. The Ceramic Resource Center, which has a large selection of reference books, will also be open during this event.

This year the S.F.C.C. starts the transition from holding the SFCC Annual General Meeting from January to July to coincide with our fiscal year. Financial results, membership and future plans will be discussed.

Next Meeting: Thursday , 12th August. Florence Gould Theater, Palace of the Legion of Honor Janine Skerry, Curator of Ceramics and Glass at Colonial Williamsburg will deliver a talk entitled "Laying an Elegant Table".
