plaques".

About the lecture:
John Jones, a military outfitter and tailor, bequeathed an
outstanding collection of 18th century Fine and Decorative Art
to the Kensington Museum ( now the V & A ) in 1882. Among
the 135 pieces of furniture are over 20 pieces mounted with porcelain
plaques. This lecture is based on close examination of these pieces
which show a range of techniques, style and taste, from the finest
porcelain mounted tables of the 1770's to pieces made in the 19th
century and mounted with "old Sèvres china".
