Bone china was now the standard.

Forms were often very elaborate and fashion moved quickly from the Neo-Gothic to Historism, to the Aesthetic movement influenced by Japan, to the Arts and Crafts movement, to Art Nouveau.

Quality was very good.

Many ornate vases and elaborate dessert services were made to display wealth and "taste".
