Inscribed "I am the Prince of happiness: I am the cause of luckiness: I am the source of better things: My name is Billiken." Some dents to footrim and wear to the silver plate. The Billiken figure, a good luck charm, was created by Florenze Pretz, Kansas City MO. in 1908. The craze spread through the country. Motorists believed a Billiken amulet would protect them from harm. A New York musical had a song "The Billiken Man".
