On this sauce tureen the pattern has the added black The Commercial Club seems to have been in existence in the first part of the 19th century . It was a dining club for the professional classes of the City of London, merchants, bankers and other gentlemen of known respectability. The Club closed in February of 1843 and the building was either remodelled or rebuilt on the same site by the Gresham Club. |
